Whipsnade (1)

The first train trip of 2010 turned out to be a very short one. On 21st March we went to Whipsnade for Beth's birthday and they had a narrow gauge railway running around part of the site so we went for a ride on that.

We both took our cameras. I was disappointed with the results from mine but Beth got some good photos, which you can find here.

I think the high point of the day for both of us was when we came across the elephants, which are let out of their paddock and taken for a walk mid-afternoon in the open parkland so you can stand quite close to them.
